JOB TITLE: Tap Room & Events Manager
LOCATION: Marquette, MI
REPORTS TO: Brewery President

responsibility of this position to ensure the realization of this goal through efficiency, positivity,
teamwork, and leadership.

Job Summary

Manage daily Tap Room and Community Space operations, onsite events, and the staff that support
these areas. Ensure operations are performed in a manner that effectively and efficiently represents
the vision of Ore Dock Brewing Company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Development, Management, and Execution of on-site events
  • Ownership of staff scheduling and biweekly schedule creation
  • Maintain a level of community involvement and knowledge
  • Ensure compliance with USDA and OSHA
  • Track and oversee donation requests for brewery merchandise and/or gift cards
  • Manage rotating art in the Community Space
  • Hire Tap Room and Community Space staff
  • Work with the brewery team to promote beer education within Ore Dock
  • Oversee cleanliness, tidiness, and organization of tap room and community spaces as well as
    staff spaces including offices, break room and staff restroom
  • Be readily available to communicate changes in events, staff, bands, and onsite operations to
    keep everything running smoothly
  • Participate in regular budget discussions with management team oversee adherence to tap
    room and community space budgets
  • Plan and lead quarterly staff meetings
  • Act as the point person for walk-in inquiries, phone calls, and general customer concerns
  • Embrace all aspects of staff management including, but not limited to, fielding general
    questions, addressing staff concerns, acting as point person on staff disciplinary issues, and
    facilitating related communication
  • Ensure the integrity of draft and bottled product sold onsite and communicate quality control
    concerns or questions to brewery team

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • The Tap Room and Events Manager supervises Tap Room and Community Space staff.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Requirements:

  • Must possess a passion for customer service and an interest in craft beer and the brewing
  • Experience in event development, management, and execution
  • Management experience in a customer facing environment in addition to experience managing
    team culture, possessing the ability to inspire and motivate a team
  • Ability to give and take direction
  • Strong communication skills to interact with both customers and staff in a professional manner;
    thorough and effective communication is vital.
  • Posses a sense of pride in our community and a desire for involvement
  • Honesty, accountability, and professionalism
  • General understanding of developing and working within a budget
  • Flexible availability, with emphasis on nights and weekends. Seasonal and holiday availability
    may be expected.
  • Excellent time management skills and experience working independently
  • Excellent computer based skills

Physical and Mental Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time, walk, talk, hear, use hands to finger, grasp,
    handle or feel, push, pull, reach, crouch, kneel, crawl or bend, and perform repetitive motions
    of the hands and/or wrists
  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 55 pounds
  • Ability to function in a noisy, fast paced environment without becoming overwhelmed
